Road accidents

If you have suffered personal injury as an innocent victim of a traffic accident, you are entitled to compensation. The damage will be covered by the compulsory third party liability insurance of the vehicle that caused the damage, or in its absence, by the Association of Hungarian Insurers, in the manner and to the extent provided for by law.

In this case, it is important to know that the driver of the damaging vehicle or the compulsory liability insurer of the vehicle must pay compensation not only for the damage to the vehicle (repair costs and so-called "total loss"), but also for all other proven damage caused in connection with the accident (personal injury property damage and damage compensation).

Road traffic accidents can be very diverse (Pedestrian hit and run, Cyclist hit and run, Motorcycle accident, Passenger accident, Foreign accident, etc.). However, in practice, they all have in common that they are caused by the operation of a motor vehicle. However, under the legislation in force, all vehicles involved in road transport must be covered by compulsory third party liability insurance, as described above.

This situation is "fortunate" because an accident typically results in damages of several million forints. And the person who actually caused the damage (as a private individual) would hardly be able to pay this alone.(To be precise, insurers are obliged to pay compensation for damages up to a limit of more than € 6 million.)
